LMCTV will challenge students to think creatively about the potential of web video, and connect the dots between creator, curator, and interactive media. Student will gain practical experience in online video publishing through managing the LMCTV YouTube video channel and LMCTV Tumblr blog. Exploring content curation, interactive storytelling tools, social media, and content management, students will learn to populate their video channel and promote it to a broad youth based audience. Curated content typically pulls from interesting outside sources and ultimately expands the brand. Sorting through the riot of voices online makes it difficult for readers and viewers to find the content they are looking for and for content creators to get exposure. Content from Ellington will be a feature not a focus with regards to the student’s approach. The vision for LMCTV is a network where student narratives are mixed with content of similar notes from other youth artists to blend a harmonious presence that is representative of a more general audience.
